Butterfly Shimai FAQ
What is Butterfly Shimai?
Butterfly Shimai is a free mahjong connect (Onet-style) puzzle game by Famobi. You match two identical butterfly wings so they join into a butterfly and fly away, until the board is clear.
How do you play Butterfly Shimai?
Click one wing, then click the identical wing. They only match if a clear path joins them; other wings block the way, so the order in which you clear pairs matters. Players and guides describe the path as allowed to turn at most twice.
What are the controls?
CrazyGames lists one control: use the left mouse button to click and match the butterflies. On phones and tablets you simply tap.
Is Butterfly Shimai free?
Yes. It is free to play in your web browser on CrazyGames, and you can play it here through the official CrazyGames embed. CrazyGames lists no in-app purchases for the web version.
Can I play Butterfly Shimai on mobile?
Yes. CrazyGames marks it as working on iOS and Android browsers and supports both portrait and landscape orientation.
What are the power-ups for?
Famobi says power-ups help you find matches when you are stuck, but they are limited, so save them for boards where you truly cannot find a move.
Is there a time limit?
Most guides describe a countdown timer on each board, with matches buying back a little time. Watch the bar in the game itself, as the exact values may change between versions.
Who made Butterfly Shimai?
The game is developed and published by Famobi. It was added to CrazyGames in March 2022.
Is Butterfly Shimai unblocked?
This page uses the official CrazyGames embed. Whether it loads on a school or work network depends on that network's filters, which we do not control or try to bypass.
Is this the official Butterfly Shimai site?
No. This is an unofficial fan site with a guide and tips. It is not affiliated with Famobi or CrazyGames.
